A three-time winner of the Hawaii Newspapers Association Excellence in Journalism awards for photojournalism, and a former Washington, DC-based print reporter for The Weekly Standard, C. Robert Stump began his journalism career as an intern at Hawaii's largest daily newspaper, The Honolulu Star-Advertiser. He also served as an editor of Biblical Archaeology Review, a nonsectarian magazine on archaeology in the Middle East. Moving from journalism to politics, Robert was elected statewide to Arizona's utility regulatory commission and served in the Arizona House of Representatives, where he was deemed "Best State Representative" by the Arizona Capitol Times' Best of the Capitol awards. Robert has appeared on CNN; "Your World with Neil Cavuto," on the Fox News Channel; National Public Radio; and C-SPAN's "Washington Journal.” He has lectured at the Aspen Institute, New Mexico State University, the Institute for Electric Innovation, and a host of other venues. Robert has received awards for his advocacy work from the Alzheimer’s Association, the Arizona Association of Homes and Housing for the Aging, the Autism Society of America and the March of Dimes. Trained in analytic philosophy, Robert holds degrees from Harvard, Oxford, and the University of California, Berkeley. He also studied color theory with Eric Hibit, at The Cooper Union, and world religions at the University of Hawaii. He has photographed with Nikon F and Leica M and SL cameras, as well as 4x5 view cameras.
